I wana start reading as this is like the 2nd most important thing that people say you need to do to get better at Japanese...but the problem i have is when? Should i complete an Anki 2k word deck and then read? Or 500 words? I try to read now and every other word is like i just don't know it :(
you have the patience for it the best thing that you can do is start reading already and every sentence look up all the things you don't know. I couldn't push though it, I gave up so many times until I finally finished my first novel over 2 years in. Maybe try reading web articles too that are shorter and you can actually finish them unlike a book at the start. Many people in the community had significantly faster progress then me with that method
